Épisode 5.08 : Emancipation

Un vent d'indépendance

    • Résumé de l'épisode :
    • L'équipe s’occupe du cas d’une jeune directrice d’usine qui tombe malade à son travail quand ses poumons se remplissent soudainement de liquide. L’adolescente informe House et son équipe qu’elle est émancipée, qu'elle vit seule et qu'elle se subvient à elle-même depuis la mort de ses parents.

      L’équipe suspecte des problèmes cardiaques et commence un traitement. Mais quand Kutner décide de sympathiser avec la patiente plutôt que de suivre les indications de House, il découvre à ses dépens, avec l'équipe, que la fille ne peut pas leur dire la vérité.

      Pendant ce temps, Foreman demande à House la permission de travailler sur un essai clinique, mais House refuse. Dans un effort visant à se prouver à lui-même qu’il est capable de travailler sans la supervision de House, Foreman prend son propre cas en pédiatrie. Mais quand l'inexplicable maladie fait frôler la mort à l’enfant, Foreman remet en question son aptitude à travailler en étant délivré de House.
